Quick ways to raise cash to pay off debt

Published by silverfern at 9:16 pm under debt Edit This

Sometimes there is nothing for it but to scramble like mad to find ways to raise money to pay off debt. Here are some ways to do this:

1. Let a room in your home. The UK government has a rent-a-room scheme where you can rent a room for £4250 per annum (£354 per month) tax-free. See this Guide to Taking in Lodgers for advice about how to go about it.

2. Go through your house and see if you have stuff you can sell on Ebay - now is the time to see if someone will pay you for all those Star Wars memorablia that you wasted money buying. With Christmas coming up, you’ll be bound to have some unwanted Christmas presents you can sell.

3. Earn money blogging. Sites like Today.com will pay you to blog (click the badge in the sidebar). Their rates are $1 per 100 word post per day(they only pay for one post a day), plus $0.002 per unique reader of your blog. If you can manage to write something popular, you could end up earning pretty well from the hits to your site.

Please also see the categories in the sidebar marked “earning money” and “earning money online” for ideas on how to raise cash.
